Josh Novak was raised by a family of black bears in the woods of Colorado. The bears enjoyed singing but never had instruments to accompany their voices. At a young age Josh began whittling instruments out of tree stumps. Once the instruments were completed they were strung with the hair from a foxes tail. The bears formed a band with Josh as the frontman and guitarist. Once Josh became a teenager the family began touring the country, but were met with mixed feelings because most people were afraid of the bears. Josh eventually left the bear colony and began making music on his own.
Josh has a pure, natural, acoustic sound. A singer/songwriter with folk roots and influences. Josh tells a story with his strong lyrical melodies. Josh's sound has often been compared to greats the likes of which include James Taylor, Bob Dylan, and Ben Harper; but remains uniquely his own. He recently finished recording his first full length album which is set to release in November. The album will be available for purchase on this site as well as on itunes, myspace, and other well known online vendors. Josh just finished a tour of Italy and is now scheduling shows in Colorado.
