Love, Everyday Joe's - Vol. 5: Plenty Of Time & Space

Anymore these days, we don’t need to look very far for music we positively love. Music we’re gaga over. Music we can feel in our bones. Music we know we want people to hear.

“Love, Everyday Joe’s - Vol. 5: Plenty Of Time & Space” is happening because you asked for it. So, thanks for asking, because it’s killer.

Vol. 5 is full of music made by people we love...as is usual for these things. What is different - tho - is the criteria put in place for this 5th edition:

1) The artist had to have released an album in 2011

2) The artist had to have played at Everyday Joe’s in 2011

These criteria have resulted in the donation of nine songs. Nine songs we are very thankful for given by nine acts we are very thankful for. They are:

You Me & Apollo

Aaron Strumpel

The Emporiums

Lifeboat Etiquette

Catch Bees

Josh Dillard

Jay J Matott & The Arctic

Karla Adolphe

The Blackthorn Project

Looking at that list brings fond memories of special nights at 144 S. Mason to the tops of our brains. 8 of the talents celebrated the formal release of their albums here. 1 celebrated the coming home from tour with what just might have been the highlight show of 2011. And there is one band in there...these Catch Bees folks...who were a part of The Sunshine House. A great band that is no more, but seems perhaps a catalyst for this new project that is unveiled here.

This is the music we’ve been listening to all year. Music we really believe you ought to hear. The songs...they do battle. Lament and proverbial wisdom and love and anger. Most of all, an invitation to wade through all of these things, because we have plenty of time and space to do that. Plenty of time and space to look for and find that Peace that’s waiting. And the tension of all of it is hard and beautiful.

If you enjoy this collection of songs, please consider doing two things:

1) Buy the music from the artists. Clicking on those names up there will take you to the albums.

2) Make a donation to Everyday Joe’s. You can do that two ways:

  • Through the Timberline Church web site (our parent organization). Click here, and select “Everyday Joe’s” under the “Payment Information/Fund”. This will all go to Everyday Joe’s
  • Through PayPal. Click here. PayPal keeps a small percentage of the donation.

All donations for the compilation made to Everyday Joe’s will go to paying for our new espresso machine...the heart of the business operations of this place. Serving the community through the crafting of a quality beverage is something we believe in fiercely. The beverages made on the machine are usually what lead to the conversations that lead to serving the community in many other ways. Coffee is not our cause. Music is not our cause. Art is not our cause. They wonderful, beautiful things that all involve something else: you. You are our cause.

Enjoy the album. We sure do. We are thankful to be a part of your universe. Part of your space. To start the download, just click the album art below.

love.

NOTE: You will download a .zip file that will need to be opened. If that confuses you, Bandcamp has a really good tutorial here.
